Hi guys. Yesterday was mine and Julia's first rehearsal for the Musical Theater of Idaho's Seussical. It was way different than I thought it'd be.
Well, in the first place, Mom was the one who made me sign up for it, and I wasn't a big fan of the soundtrack, but it's actually fun and really good if it's live. Dad even started singing with us unconsciously. Julia and I are some of the Asian Mayor of Whoville's children. It's funny how a lot of the leads in these musicals are Asian...
Last night was the first night I actually sang the songs, and I'd only heard the soundtrack once. It was a bit tough not knowing a lot of the songs, but I caught on fast. Our Horton is really good, though considering he's one of the judges, it's understandable ;D.
Well, I hope all of you are having as good a time there as we are here in Kuna.
-Gilly
Welcome to the theatre world! Warning - it can be very addictive! We are glad you are having a good time. We haven't seen this show, and are not familiar with the music. Post some clips of you and Julia singing some of the songs.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you guys! Musical Theater is seriously the best and most unique/memorable experience ever. Take lots of pictures when the show happens, and i want a video too :)
ReplyDeletep.s. i was watching Lea Salonga's live concert on dvd, and guess what was her closing number? ONE VOICE! and it was so good! you're gonna be awesome!
Woaah..I didn't know you were doing Seussical (I always have the hardest time spelling that..)
ReplyDeleteBut I love the soundtrack from that musical, I've only actually heard like half of the songs, but they're all so catchy.
Now I have a song playing in my head..I don't know the title..but it goes
"If you open your mind,oh the thinks you will find
lining up to get loose. Oh, the thinks you can think"
Wait..I think the title is "The Thinks you can think"..that would make sense..
But yeah, Gil and Julia, that's really cool!
