As prompted by Cayenne

Hi all! So prompted by Catherine's email, I came on the blog! Congratulations to all as well! Tuptim, Scholarships, College! Yay!!

Some updates:

My paper (published in November 2008 in "Small" Journal which is an Advanced Materials Nanoscience Journal by Wiley Science) was one of the most accessed papers for the journal Nov 2008 and Dec 2008. It's kind of interesting to realize that the research I'm doing is actually contributing to the scientific community! It also makes me feel like a legitimate nerd!!

Grad School Acceptances: Chuck and I have gotten into U Chicago, Wash U in St. Louis, and UCSD together! I got into Northwestern as well and he got into Stanford (I'm marrying one smart man!). Praise God that we get to go to grad school together for sure now.

Wedding: Please mark it in your calendars if it hasn't been yet. We're getting married July 4, 2009 in Burbank, CA. The ceremony starts at 6:00 PM :-). In a little over 5 months, I'm going to be a "wife."

Also, belated happy birthday to Kuya JR! Now 25 yrs old!! He can rent a car :-).

I will continue to check the blog periodically...otherwise, I'm gonna get behind on all the cousin clan successes!

And by the way, Catherine, we should hang out soon, since we're regularly within 2 miles of each other. Lol.

Until Later,
Marie/Maan/Ate Maan

  3. i hope that my creating the blog doesn't turn into the reason u all stop paying attention in school, and then start getting bad grades...and then soon the news on the blog will change as we'll be posting things like "well today, nikki failed her math test because she was reading the blog instead of memorizing all the numbers in pi..." etc etc

  4. Haha, don't worry. In my case I was doing it in Planning class. i don't have a report card mark in that class and we're already done doing the whole application to university thing, so no one in class is listening anymore
