Yes, I am Rumpleteazer in "Cats"

Hi everyone, Cayenne here!


So some GOOD NEWS - as some of you may have heard already, I have been cast to play the featured role of "Rumpleteazer" in a big production of "Cats" this summer (she's the one on the left of the pic)! I'm so excited because it will be in a big theatre, and a ton of people auditioned, and this is my first time to have a featured role in a musical with this company (Cabrillo Music Theatre is a semi-professional company that I've done shows with before as a chorus member). Its so funny because I always used to think Cats was a silly show that didn't make any sense...but now that I've watched the entire DVD, i'm kind of obsessed with the show and I think its absolutely amazing!! I've watched it a million times! I'm really excited to be a part of this production - I haven't been this excited for a show in quite a while :)

The woman who is directing/choreographing the show is from the National Tour of Cats, and she also played "Tiger Lily" in Cathy Rigby's revival of Peter Pan! She is very strict and kind of intense...I'm especially nervous because I'm playing the same part that SHE played in Cats, "Rumpleteazer", so I'm sure she'll be very critical and a perfectionist lol.

Anyways, I hope some of you can come watch it this summer! The show is VERY demanding - a LOT of combined singing and heavy dancing. My role is really cool because I am one of the few mischievous cats - I play a thief that loves to make trouble. I get to have a showstopping duet in the first act! We dont start rehearsals till late June, but I'll keep you guys updated :)
